Last Minute: Deacero will invest 12,000 million pesos in Mexico to increase its production

The manufacturer of steel products, Deacero, announced an investment of 12,000 million pesos , intended for the purchase of machinery, equipment and working capital to increase its production capacity by one million tons by 2024.

Of the total investment, half will be spent this year to increase and improve production in its steel mills and strengthen its sustainability and environmental processes, while in 2023 and 2024 the remainder will be invested to consolidate the projects focused on increasing its production in an additional million tons per year for the national market.

The investment of the Monterrey consortium will be used for the manufacturing processes of steel and derived products , which, he assures, will impact the construction of housing and public works in different entities of the country and in various industries such as agriculture and fishing, energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, oil and gas.

Raúl M. Gutiérrez Muguerza, Chairman of the Board of Grupo Deacero, explained that the investment, which will have innovation and modernization as its main focus , is being made within the framework of the company's 70 years of existence.

"This investment of 12,000 million pesos to strengthen sustainable production that meets national demand and joins efforts to combat climate change, but also contributes to strengthening the country's economic growth," he was quoted as saying in a statement.

Likewise, it foresees that said injection of capital will have a positive effect in the more than 20 international markets in which it has a presence .
