Maduro's dictatorship rejects the EU observer mission: "Borrell believes that we are a colony"

This same week the European Union charged against the opponents Juan Guaidó and Leopoldo López for their rejection of the observer mission that the High Representative for Foreign Policy of the EU, Josep Borrell , intends to send to Venezuela to check the cleanliness in the next regional elections November 21. Now it is Nicolás Maduro’s own regime that rejects the mission and harshly charges against Borrell: «Mr. Borrell’s attitude is typical of those who still believe that Venezuela is still a colony; he ignores this character that we recently expelled from here to the Spanish empire more than 200 years ».

“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratifies that it will not accept any interference, and that an electoral observation mission with the characteristics described by Mr. Borrell will not be accepted by our country,” the Foreign Ministry of the Venezuelan dictatorship has warned in a statement. .

In this way, Borrell sees how his plan breaks down. On the one hand, the opposition believes that the elections will lack sufficient democratic guarantees. And, on the other hand, the Venezuelan regime refuses to be scrutinized by the EU. Community diplomacy has been left halfway through this issue, which has earned it the rejection of the Venezuelan opposition.

In fact, it has been the EU itself that has scorned the opinion of the main opposition leaders. On October 1, community sources assured that “the views expressed by Guaidó and López do not correspond to that of Popular Will, which has not expressed itself against it. The majority of the opposition in the Unitary Platform wants to go to the elections. We will have to pay more attention to those who participate in the elections who are going to be at risk.

Leopoldo López and Juan Guaidó had been warning that the minimum conditions do not exist in Venezuela and that the European mission will benefit the Nicolás Maduro regime .

The decision to send an observation mission to the regional and local elections of November 21 has not encountered obstacles between the 27 or the groups of the European Parliament and it has been verified, according to the same sources, the interest of the main actors in the South American country, including Popular Will, the formation of Juan Guaidó and Leopoldo López.

Now it is the Venezuelan regime itself that is ugly to the EU the conditions it wants to impose in order to carry out the diplomatic mission has charged hard against Borrell. “Mr. Borrell’s attitude is typical of those who still believe that Venezuela is still a colony, he ignores this character that we drove from here to the Spanish empire a little over 200 years ago,” wrote on Twitter the ‘number two’ of the drug dictatorship, Diosdado Cabello, on the statements of the head of European diplomacy.

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, has also spoiled his words to Borrell, in a message on the same social network in which he accuses the European representative of not “respecting” Venezuela.
