Michael Wendler canceled a concert in NRW. The singer justified the cancellation with the corona rules in Germany. But there is obviously a completely different reason behind it.
NRW – Michael Wendler will not come to Germany for a concert at the end of September. The pop singer, who has lived in Florida in the USA since 2016, recently announced this to his fans on his Telegram channel. The reasons given are unsurprising, but is it also the truth? RUHR24 * knows more.

Michael Wendler cancels the concert in NRW – and puts forward “Corona blackmailing fans”
The 49-year-old has never made a secret of what he thinks of the Corona rules in Germany. It is therefore not surprising that Michael Wendler at Telegram blames the actions of the federal government for his concert cancellation. Specifically, it is about the “extortionate 3G rule”. In addition, the conspiracy theorist explains that he “as a responsible artist and critic of Corona measures is not prepared to accept this blackmail against his fans.”
This statement is part of the many crude claims about the corona pandemic that Michael Wendler makes at regular intervals. Wendler announced to Telegram in August that all those vaccinated would be dead in September * – at a later point in time, the pop singer again distanced himself from his confused theory.
Michael Wendler: Singer cancels NRW concert – is there another reason behind it?
But in the case of the cancellation of the concert in the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, are there really the Corona measures behind it, which the former star in the Schlager sky bumped so badly? Perhaps the alleged “blackmailing of his fans” this time could only be a pretended reason (read more news about celebrities from NRW * at RUHR24).
Because the cancellation for the appearance causes some inconsistencies. On the website of the Turbinenhalle in the Ruhr area, there is no mention of a concert by Michael Wendler * planned for the end of September. Information about a rescheduling or even a cancellation is also missing. According to the events listed there, the native of Dinslaken should have played a concert in Oberhausen in May 2021 – there is no talk of September.
Michael Wendler’s arrest warrant still exists – singer awaits arrest in Germany
What makes the singer’s statements even more doubtful, however, is the fact that Wendler would probably not be welcomed with open arms in Germany. The fact is: the 49-year-old has skipped court appointments in this country several times. Therefore, an arrest warrant was issued against Michael Wendler in July.
Rather, the concert cancellation could be related to the fact that the singer would have to expect an arrest if he were to enter Germany. Henning Bierhaus, spokesman at the Duisburg Regional Court, confirmed to the Rheinische Post that the arrest warrant against Michael Wendler still exists.
This should basically ensure that a person appears in court. In such a case, the person concerned would be arrested until a new trial date was set. In the case of the pop singer, this means: “The police would take him into custody and bring him before a judge.”
Court in North Rhine-Westphalia: Wendler concert in Germany is possible despite an arrest warrant
Despite the threat of arrest in Germany, Michael Wendler would still have the opportunity to play his concert in North Rhine-Westphalia, as Henning Bierhaus further explains to the Rheinische Post : “If he arrives on time, is arrested and the main hearing takes place a few days later, he would be maybe at large again. ”However, this scenario seems too delicate for the singer. * RUHR24 is part of the IPPEN.MEDIA editorial network.
