Michael Wendler: “I’m not broke and there are no bankruptcy proceedings against me!”
The list of allegations is long: Michael Wendler is said to have delayed bankruptcies and thwarted foreclosures. In addition, he is said to have debts to several creditors. This is joined by a recently issued arrest warrant from the Dinslaken District Court. The 49-year-old did not appear in person for a lawsuit that also involved a lot of money.
It looks like the former DSDS juror can actually no longer pay his debts and wants to shirk his responsibility. Michael Wendler, however, has a completely different view of things. In a long voice message on his Telegram channel, he commented on his financial situation. The statements begin with the words: “I am not broke and there are no bankruptcy proceedings against me!”
Michael Wendler speaks of a “fantasy tax” – he was a “thorn in the side” of the tax office
When he emigrated to the USA in 2016, says Michael Wendler, he was free of debt. Only later did the tax office report a claim. Suddenly a so-called “hobby” in the amount of around 1.2 million euros was levied on his stud. The ex-jungle camp participant calls it a “fantasy tax” (more news about Michael Wendler * at RUHR24).
The pop singer also has a suspicion why it suddenly happened. For a long time he had paid “the highest tax rates” in Germany. The fact that he suddenly started paying taxes on his income in America by moving to Cape Coral in Florida was “a thorn in the side” for the tax office.

“In any case, the fact is that I still have enough securities in Germany. The tax office also has access to this collateral ”, says Michael Wendler. The native of Dinslaken speaks of seven condominiums in his possession, an outstanding insurance payment in the amount of half a million euros after an accident on TV and the “entire GEMA income from almost 500 titles that I have written”.
Michael Wendler still has “great fortune” – explanation for absence from trial
It is about great fortunes that the singer still has. The tax office must first exploit them “before they talk about any debts that I supposedly have or are not paying”. Michael Wendler does not know how the process will end. He does not have an overview of how much money is still coming in from GEMA or is currently in the pot.
The singer also commented on why he did not appear for the trial. His lawyer assured him that one representation would be sufficient. According to his own statements, he did not appear repeatedly, but for the first time.
“Since I live in America, the court has to ship the cargo delivery here in America. It never did, and it broke the law. There were never two negotiations before this current date, ”said Michael Wendler. * RUHR24 is part of the IPPEN.MEDIA editorial network.
