Los Angeles – Oscar winner Morgan Freeman ("Million Dollar Baby") embarks on an action thriller at the age of 84. Hollywood's old star is said to play a leading role in the film “Muti” alongside US actor Cole Hauser (46, “Olympus Has Fallen – The World in Danger”), as the industry journal “Deadline.com” reported.
George Gallo (65) is on board as writer and director, who most recently brought Freeman in front of the camera at the side of Robert De Niro and Tommy Lee Jones for the mafia comedy "Kings Of Hollywood". Gallo made a name for himself with scripts for "Midnight Run" and "Bad Boys".
"Muti" follows a detective (Hauser) who is chasing a serial killer who kills his victims through cruel rituals. Freeman plays a professor and anthropologist who is supposed to help him with his search, but who is keeping a terrible secret himself. You penetrate deeper and deeper into the world of the killer. The shooting is planned in the US state Mississippi and in Italy. dpa
