Munich – The seven-day incidence * in Germany is increasing – and has reached 100 for the first time since mid-May. The Robert Koch Institute * stated the value on Saturday morning as exactly 100.0. The day before it was 95.1, a week ago it was 70.8. Within one day, the health authorities reported 15,145 new infections to the RKI (as of the RKI dashboard October 23, 4.31 a.m.). A week ago there were 10,949 infections with Corona *.

The Free State of Bavaria had already exceeded the incidence of 100 on Friday (October 15). For Prime Minister Markus Söder’s federal state, it was also the highest value since mid-May.

Germany: Corona incidence for the first time since May over 100 – 15,145 new infections

In all of Germany, 86 deaths were recorded within one day. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the RKI has counted 4,452,425 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days – the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions – was given by the RKI on Friday at 2.68 (Thursday 2.45). With the indicator, however, it must be taken into account that hospital admissions are sometimes reported with delay. A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences. The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.

The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 4,200,000. A total of 95,077 people have now died from or with the participation of Corona. (kam / dpa) * Merkur.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
