NATO has reached out to Russia this Friday, by ensuring that it maintains contacts to reopen the dialogue with Moscow and deal with the tensions generated in recent months, which have led the relationship to the "worst moment" since the Cold War.
" We are ready to have a useful dialogue with Rusi a, but it is important for us to use the platforms we have agreed to to ensure that the conversations are given in a format that works," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a press conference prior to the summit of allied leaders next Monday.
A few days after the president of the United States, Joe Biden, meets with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin , in Switzerland, the NATO political leader has indicated that he aspires to convene the NATO Council "in the not too distant future" -Russia, the framework in which it considers that contacts should be made to reduce tension.
" We have taken the initiative , so far Russia has not responded positively, but there are ongoing contacts on this issue," he detailed, after ensuring that relations with Russia are "at the worst moment since the Cold War ."
