In Russia, only a good third of the population is vaccinated against the virus. The number of deaths is increasing, as is the number of new infections.
Moscow – The corona situation is worsening in Russia. On Sunday, the authorities reported 890 fatalities within 24 hours, another high since the pandemic began a year and a half ago.
The statistics have been showing negative records above the 800 mark in deaths related to the virus for days. The Kremlin recently called the numbers worrying.
According to official corona statistics, a total of almost 210,000 patients died with the virus. However, it is assumed that there is a high number of unreported cases.
Recently, the number of new infections has also increased – on Sunday to 25,700 new cases within one day. According to official figures, only 50 million people have received at least the first of mostly two necessary vaccinations. That’s 34 percent of the population. 146 million people live in Russia.
