Madrid – The Spanish police have arrested one of the most wanted criminals in Europe in Catalonia.

The police said on Twitter on Saturday that it was a man who was wanted for smuggling more than 300 kilograms of heroin from Iran to Slovenia. The arrested person was on Europol’s list of the most wanted criminals in Europe.

Video released by police showed plainclothes officers stopping a car, punching down the driver and taking him away in handcuffs. The man lived with his family in a luxury estate in Sant Vicenç de Montalt, northeast of Barcelona. He faces ten years in prison. dpa
