David Rubin has already served two terms as head of the Academy, during which, among other things, he campaigned for more diversity in the film industry.
Los Angeles – Acting Academy Director David Rubin has been re-elected to the post of Chairman of the Oscar Academy in Los Angeles. This was announced by the film association, which awards the Oscars every year, in Beverly Hills.
Rubin, who has acted as casting director for more than a hundred films and TV productions, including “The English Patient” and “Men in Black”, is taking up his third term as President of the Film Association.
The supervisory board of the more than 9,000-strong organization selected further representatives, including the producers Donna Gigliotti (“Shakespeare in Love”) and Jennifer Todd (“Memento”).
During his tenure so far, Rubin has campaigned for more diversity and inclusion. In 2020, the academy announced new measures to promote diversity and equality in its own ranks and at Oscar awards. The 94th Oscar award next year is scheduled for March 27th. dpa
