At the award ceremony in Los Angeles, different corona rules apply to the participants. 2500 guests are invited.
Los Angeles – This year, guests at the Oscar gala must present proof of vaccination against the corona virus and at least two negative PCR tests. This is reported by several US media.
Presenters and performing artists must also be tested but do not require proof of vaccination, a spokeswoman for the New York Times said. Accordingly, 2500 guests are invited to the 94th Academy Awards on March 27th. According to the information, more than 3,300 people fit into the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Due to the time difference, the ceremony in Germany can be seen in the early morning hours of March 28th.
According to the New York Times, the mask requirement will also vary this year. Guests who are nominated for an Oscar and their companions are seated further apart in the front areas and are not required to wear masks. Further back, on the other hand, people would sit closer together and would all need mouth and nose protection.
With 12 nominations, The Power of the Dog is this year’s Oscar favorite. The science fiction epic Dune by Canadian director Denis Villeneuve received ten nominations. Movies like “West Side Story” and “Belfast” also have multiple chances of winning. Actresses Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes will host the evening. dpa
