Instagram has been shut down in Russia. Many influencers cry, among other things, about the loss of their source of income. This is misunderstood by many.
Moscow – Millions of Russians are now cut off from social networks like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The shutdown of Instagram on Monday alone has so far affected most people – according to dpa around 64 million at once. Influencers cry for the social network, as reported by tz.de.

“For me, it’s just life. it’s my soul It’s what I’ve been waking up and falling asleep to for the past five years,” cries a Russian beauty blogger with nearly 3 million followers. There is sadness among the influencers who are losing their source of income – and indignation among many others who are losing far more than that.

Karina Istomina, a popular DJ (400,000 followers), told The Guardian: “About half of all my income comes from Instagram advertising. To be honest I’m absolutely devastated that I’m losing my side. […] I probably need to find new sources of income and rediscover myself.”
Fans outraged by the crying Instagram influencer: “You’re snotty”
Many users are critical of the crying video from “buzova86” (23.2 million followers). In Russian, a follower sarcastically commented: “Without an audience, you will lose money. So you sit there and cry.” “Damn, people died?! What’s going on here?” and “People are unemployed and you’re very cheeky about Instagram”, can be read there.
Russian musician Rita Dakota (2.8 million followers) also thinks: “It’s hard to be sad about the loss of a social network when so many people are losing family and friends, protection, hope, support, meaning and faith right now .”
Meanwhile, a protest action by a Russian TV employee is moving the world. Before her sensational protest against the Ukraine war, Marina Ovzyannikova recorded a video on the main news program of the Russian state channel First Channel, in which she explains her political position.
