BRUSSELS – Belgium's Queen Paola has canceled her public engagements due to a fractured upper arm.

The Belgian royal family announced on Thursday that the queen had to rest for eight weeks because of the fracture of the right head of the humerus. For 20 years, Paola and her husband Albert II ruled the Kingdom of Belgium, which had a population of around eleven million.
