Reinhold Messner married for the third time

Life in the mountains connects them: Reinhold Messner and his partner Diana Schumacher said yes.

Bozen (dpa) – Extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner (76) married for the third time. The South Tyrolean confirmed a corresponding report in the “Neue Südtiroler Tageszeitung” on Saturday. “We can be congratulated,” Messner told the German press agency.

The Italian and his partner Diane Schumacher (41) said yes on Friday in the council chamber of the municipality of Kastelbell-Tschars in South Tyrol. According to the report, the wedding in the Venosta Valley community took place in camera with close family and friends.

The news of the wedding did not come as a surprise – South Tyrolean media published the list at the beginning of May. According to the news portal stol.it, the South Tyrolean and the Luxembourg resident of Munich have been in a relationship since 2019.

One of their first joint appearances was the annual Messner film evening on August 1, 2019, in which German Chancellor Angela Merkel also took part. What connects the two, among other things, is their love for the mountains.
