Researchers warn: "Anti-5G" accessories are radioactive

Several products that are supposed to protect against supposedly harmful 5G radiation turn out to be dangerous in themselves.

Frankfurt / The Hague – In order to protect themselves from allegedly highly dangerous 5G radiation, some conspiracy theorists like to use certain accessories. However, there is no evidence that 5G is harmful to health. In the best case scenario, the products then turn out to be ineffective.

But “anti-5G” jewelry can itself be harmful, as the Dutch Agency for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS) has now discovered: Several products are radioactive.

Radioactive: Authority warns of “anti-5G” products

Researchers at the ANVS in The Hague took a closer look at the jewelry and have now issued a warning for ten products that are advertised with supposed “5G protection”. Not only are they completely useless, but they also emit ionizing radiation that can be harmful. The products include sleeping masks, necklaces, bracelets or pendants. Some are specially designed for children.

“The amount of radiation measured in the products examined is low,” says the ANVS report. However, the limit value for radiation exposure applicable in the Netherlands could be exceeded when wearing for a long time. The ribbons and chains are products that are usually worn all day long. The authority can therefore not rule out damage to health. For example, there may be reddening of the skin.

“Anti-5G” products: radioactive waste

The authority asks buyers of the radioactive products to no longer carry them and to stow them safely. Because it would be radioactive waste, it should not be disposed of in the trash. Buyers should be informed about a possible return of the products via the dealers and the authorities.

The Netherlands prohibits the sale of products that emit such radioactive emissions. The ANVS informed the dealers. If the authorities determine during a second inspection that the sale has not been discontinued, criminal or administrative steps can be initiated. Foreign traders cannot be banned from selling, the ANVS informs. But other authorities can be informed with an appropriate authority.

WHO: 5G not dangerous to health

The World Health Organization has repeatedly emphasized the security of 5G cellular networks, which is not fundamentally different from 3G and 4G signals. Cellular networks use non-ionizing radio waves that, according to the current state of research, do not damage the DNA.

Corresponding rumors about the alleged danger of 5G still persist. Last year, 15 EU countries turned to the European Commission to step up action against circulating conspiracy theories. In recent years there have also been repeated arson attacks on radio masts in Germany. (Lukas Rogalla)
