They may look like something out of a sci-fi movie or dystopian Netflix series, but beds designed for gamers are a reality and are here to stay.
The manufacturer of this complement is, how could it be otherwise, a Japanese firm called Bauhutte . This company specializes in the design and sale of all kinds of furniture and accessories for video game lovers, including clothing, chairs, desks, standing supports, etc.
It also markets desks that allow the player to lie down on dentist-like chairs to take a nap. However, this is the creation that most favors laziness and obesity in its entire catalog.
“ I wake up and move from my bed to my desk. Why is that so complicated? Play beds solve this problem, ”the manufacturer explains on its website. “As soon as you wake up, you can enjoy a game or an anime and you will fall asleep again without difficulty. Furthermore, by integrating a large two-story piece of furniture, with a bed and a desk, the rest of the room is very spacious ”, they highlight.
Everything you need for 1,000 euros
The most basic bed, which comes with a desk and headboard, costs about 300 euros to change, but the user can get more accessories to complete the pack, including multiple tables with wheels that can house everything from controls, cartridges, cables to all kinds of fast food, snacks, carbonated drinks, etc. We are not saying it , but the very photos that Bauhette has released to promote their product, in which they are not intended to contain overly healthy products.
“The trolley with wheels and the shelf for cans and thin bottles give you the opportunity to store a large amount of trinkets and drinks, although they will not help to preserve them or keep them cold,” the Japanese firm points out.
The idea is that the video game fan has everything they need at their fingertips and does not need to abandon the comfortable horizontality for nothing . Combined with services to order food at home, such as Glovo or Deliveroo, the gamer should not even worry about cooking or getting food hot things.
Add to the basic model the suggested extras, which include the desk, headboard, bed frame, all shelves on wheels, an adjustable keyboard tray, as well as bedding items such as a bean bag pillow and a matching blanket, the price would skyrocket to around 1,000 euros.
The gaming bed is just as it looks. In other words, only one individual model is sold. If the gamer or the gamer partner or want to enjoy doubles of a title they will have it complicated, unless they squeeze a little in the bed of 90. It seems that for now Bauhette does not consider launching any 1.35 model or 1.50 to the market.
What this complete furniture does not solve either are the physiological needs or hygiene. A urinal or catheter can solve the former.
In any case, it is not a bad invention for small floors or to spend an entertaining quarantine if you have caught the coronavirus.
