Solidarity in the car: everyone against the Coronavirus

The automotive sector has not wanted to fail at this important moment , contributing its grain of sand in the form of a fleet of vehicles, masks, respirators and mobility services. Brands such as Seat, Hyundai, Renault, Ford, Iveco, Suzuki, Lexus and many more, have put aside the sale of cars to make themselves available to those who need it most. The coronavirus has stopped the planet, it has left us in front of a red traffic light and without knowing when it will turn green. An unexpected crisis, which has helped us reorganize our priorities and loyalties. A blow that will make us value our true warriors and saviors: the health world, supermarket workers, transporters , researchers and even the armed forces . Sectors that are often forgotten and that now have the support of the entire society and the brands of the automotive sector .

Solidarity is an essential element of Spanish culture. Many prefer to serve the irresponsible minority, those who skip lockdown for no reason. Others, on the other hand, are committed to focusing our attention on the great gestures of solidarity, affection and joint effort that our people are making. The applause at 8:00 p.m. has become part of our daily lives, an act of gratitude as daily as having the first coffee in the morning. It is an instant of congregation between neighbors, of encouragement and of struggle. A moment that reminds us that together we will get out of this. The firms know this and have gone out of their way to help in every possible way.

The needs are many, from masks or PPE equipment to disinfectant gels or vehicles to transfer to health services. Any help is welcome and the brands have decided to take action. Our national firm, Seat, has developed respirators using 3D printing technology . Hyundai, Suzuki and Ford make their fleet available to hospital staff. Lexus has launched a series of activities to do at home during the quarantine. BMW challenges us to bring out our most creative side, and thus each and every one of the firms established in Spain.
