The Mexican currency closed the day with an appreciation of 0.40%, standing at 20.3529 units per dollar, after confirming the 75 bp hike in the Fed's interest rate.
The Mexican currency ranks as the fourth most appreciated against the dollar, behind the Norwegian krone with 0.99%; the Polish zloty with 0.94% and the Swedish krona with 0.72%.
The peso is one of the best currencies in emerging markets, while the euro has already lost almost 12% of its value so far this year. And, for the first time, it fell below the price of the dollar.
