This Friday, Mexican consumers will already be able to get their hands on three of the four new iPhones that Apple launched on the market this year: the iPhone 14 , 14 Pro and Pro Max . To tell you a little bit about what we can expect from these new devices, we give you our first impressions of the iPhone 14 Product RED and the iPhone 14 Pro Max in the new deep purple color .
iPhone 14 Pro Max
We start with the jewel in the crown for Apple, its new iPhone 14 Pro Max model. We tried the model in the new dark purple color and, at first glance, it is a color that makes this phone stand out and that I consider to be one of the best that Apple has chosen for its phones in a while now.
But beyond this first look, once you turn on the device you have several experiences that you didn’t have in previous generations. The clearest and most important is the integration of the famous Dynamic Island at the top, where we previously found the camera notch. The use of this is simple, intuitive and functional, first-hand.
For now, we must take into account that this function works only with Apple’s proprietary applications and it is expected that more and more developers can generate adaptations to join them. What does this mean? That if you are an avid user of apps like Apple Maps, Apple Music and so on, this works great.
You can have a song running while you continue to use the phone without having any intrusion and then add a timer that adds to this zone, without requiring more space. Getting in and out of this “island” is easy, just hold down a bit to display the widget or tap to display the app.
Another screen detail that is given from the first moment is the “always on”, which allows you to have your most relevant information on the lock screen, keeping it always “awake” without this meaning that it will take a lot of battery power. This is because the new A16 chip and Display Engine allow for a 1Hz refresh rate, which is used to maintain this screen.
If we get more and more into the news, without yet reaching a final review because we will see that since we can use the equipment in depth, we do notice many improvements.
If we compare the same scene taken with an iPhone 13 Pro Max and an iPhone 14 Pro Max, the level of detail that the latter has is relevant and this is mainly due to improvements made with the Photonic Engine (Apple’s proprietary technology in computational photography terms and involves both machine learning, iPhone hardware and software improvements) and the 48 MP camera with quad pixel sensor.
One last piece of news that’s relevant is that it’s an iPhone that has all-day battery life and better heat dissipation, even when it’s pushed hard.
iPhone 14, what progress do we notice?
Although the conversations in networks about the iPhone 14 indicate that there are few differences compared to the previous generation, the reality is that there are some improvements in software and camera that will be worth reviewing in a longer review.
In the case of performance, by having the A15 Bionic chip (the same as the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max), we have an Apple “entry” phone with greater power and autonomy than the previous generation.
When we talk about the camera, we can see improvements, especially in low light situations. We can now have images with greater detail thanks to the fact that it has a wide-angle camera, with a larger sensor and pixels, and the integration of the Photonic Engine.
Another of the novelties of the camera is the front one, which for the first time has autofocus, which allows us to take better framed photos because it can make an adjustment taking into account the position of all the people that appear on the screen.
Some other improvements have to do with an even more powerful TrueTone flash, but this does not mean that it dazzles you when you use it, but that it has more intelligence to adapt.
