The central themes of the meeting will be biodesign, post-humanism, deconstructed landscapes, planetary interactions and inhabited memories. The virtual format, according to Felipe César Londoño, director of the International Image Festival, will allow them to create a memory, a repository with all the documentation, to build useful reference material.
The International Image Festival, designed to be held between May 24 and 28, prepares an edition focused on design, electronic arts, digital creation, science and technology, as well as questioning the role of media and communication in a world suffering from a pandemic, migration and environmental conflicts, among other problems. In its twentieth edition, with a heritage of work on topics such as television, video creation, still images and illustration, the contest puts into discussion some issues related to today’s concerns.

With an emphasis on collaborative work, since the interest is in motivating participation from perspectives that integrate design with the arts, technologies, science and society, Felipe César Londoño, director of the festival, affirms that: “We have fostered spaces of dynamic meetings between creators, public policy managers, groups and communities to make a reflection that we consider necessary both for Colombia and for the world. What is expected for this edition is that we have attendees from different parts of Latin America and the world, who think about the role that image and communication processes have at this time as a way of proposing solutions to these global problems ”.
Under the title INTER / ESPECIES, the twentieth version of the festival seeks to investigate critical perspectives of the role that human beings have in the world, with the purpose of observing those vital forces that interconnect with other non-human living beings, and even with survival and habitability on the planet. Thus, it seeks to generate a space for reflection around “the nature-culture continuum, as a gesture of affirmation of relationships, of space-time proximity, to raise other views and motivate ourselves to action from work with memory, sustainability, landscape and biocreation ”, adds Londoño.
