The Reynolds Institute of Journalism, in the United States, has carried out a survey that shows that the users of iPads in this country are those who are more interested in consuming news , in addition to those who spend more time informing themselves, compared to those who they access the Internet with different tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices. Specifically, 84% use it for this purpose, compared to 64% of e-book reader users and 57% of those who access information via mobile phone.
Specifically, iPad users spend 6.1 hours a week “catching up on the news,” a figure that rises to 7.3 hours in the 18 to 34 age group. Consumers between the ages of 35 and 54 use the most types of mobile devices on a daily basis (1.9 per person), even more than the youngest users.
On the other hand, a recent study by the Online Publishers Association suggests that users of tablets such as the iPad are also the ones who buy the most digital content, including magazines (39%), digital books (35%) and subscription to newspapers (15%). ).
