If you are between 30 to 40 years old, it is very likely that when we name you the Micro Machines brand you know without a doubt what we are talking about. Available since 1987, also known as Micro Machines: The Original Scale Miniatures or simply as The Micros , they consist of a wonderful line of toys originally manufactured by the Galoob company (currently part of Hasbro, specifically since 1998), which They were characterized as authentic miniatures of popular cars and trucks of the time , which also included emergency vehicles, trains, motorcycles, tanks, boats, airplanes and helicopters.
This brand revived for a few years due to the popularity achieved among the smallest of the house, although it is true that it only lasted a couple of years. In fact, after it was officially bought by Hasbro, Micro Machines disappeared from most toy store shelves more than a decade ago.
Then, with the release of the movie Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens in 2015, the manufacturer brought out a new set of different themed Micro Machines; Although it barely lasted a year, no more sets were released later.
Up to now. And it is that just a few months ago we learned that Micro Machines are back on the shelves of toy stores, by launching a new line that would include an updated version of the classic transformation game .
It is believed that they could be available throughout the fall, and would include a new Super Van City that, fully unfolded, would reveal a complete redesigned miniature city with a total of 20 different locations, including elegant donut shops, off-road race tracks , a race track, an airport, a very curious suspension bridge, a construction site and other shops. In addition, the line will return with three exclusive vehicles.
To re-launch them, Hasbro would be working with Wicked Cool Toys (which a few months ago was acquired by Jazwares), in order to revive the brand. However, images of the new vehicles are not available at the moment.
Be that as it may, there is no doubt that for the moment we will have to wait. And although the arrival of the new Micro Machines was expected in mid-autumn, it is foreseeable that it may perhaps be delayed a bit as a result of the coronavirus pandemic in which we have been immersed since February around the world.
