A team of Spanish, Portuguese, German and other paleontologists, led by Miguel Moreno-Azanza, Carmen Núñez-Lahuerta and Eduardo Puértolas (Universidade Nova de Lisboa / Grupo Aragosaurus-IUCA), has discovered a dinosaur nest with at least 12 Eggs embedded in a rock at the Loarre site (Huesca).
The fossil eggs, which are about 15 centimeters in diameter and could belong to titanosaurs , are in perfect condition , according to experts. It took 50 days to extract them safely after their discovery.
In order to protect the precious fossil for its transfer, the scientists used cellulose plaster reinforced with a metallic structure and a polyurethane cover. Now, he will be waiting for the construction of a laboratory-museum in Loarre to be completed, which will be his home for the future.
