Scientists warn that marine life could suffer a mass extinction the likes of which has not been seen since the age of the dinosaurs. This future event could even rival the 'Great Dying' some 25 million years ago.
Ichthyosaurs, named after the first recognized female paleontologist, Mary Anning, lived from the Early Triassic to the Late Cretaceous, in what is now the Americas, Europe, and Asia. They have found remains of the three largest animals in history.
