To achieve greater reach, some celebrities participate in this philanthropic effort. In this case, users subscribe to exclusive content and this is how funds are raised for social causes.

“It is true that we have a significant reach, it is a fortune to be honest to be able to reach large masses, so, in this case we are trying to put that grain of sand, trying to look to the future, thinking about how to join and in how to facilitate this type of aid”, Alejandro Speitzer , ambassador of the application, told Expansión .

In an interview, the actress Ana de la Reguera , who is an investor and adviser to Somus, comments that as founder of the VeracruzANA charity organization, she recognizes the work that goes into starting an organization of this type, as well as managing to raise funds to help in different causes. It is therefore

“I have been in the world of philanthropy for more than years and that is why I am at Somus, because it is a much simpler tool where we have already done the homework for our audience, our followers,” he commented.

How does the app work?

The public figure opens a profile on the platform, in which he shares exclusive content, accessible by his fans through a monthly subscription at a price determined by the figure. According to the common subscription profits, at least 50% is donated to good causes such as access to education, gender equality or the fight against childhood cancer. The percentage is determined by the figure, being possible to donate up to 100%.

“You can choose which foundation you want to support, which celebrity you want to follow, and you know that by seeing that special content from the people you admire, you can immediately help women, children, and organizations not only in Mexico, but around the world,” explains Ana de the Reguera.

“I think it is very important to be able to give a different purpose in a certain way to social networks and to the time we spend consuming content,” added dancer Isaac Hernández , who is also involved in the project.

What organizations are there?
