Twitter has announced through its blog that just give u n important step to make it easier to manage security for access to the microblogging platform. It is an option that allows you to use the HTTPS protocol whenever you access Twitter, intended for the safe transfer of hypertext data and used by banks and online stores, among others. This is particularly necessary when using Twitter over an unsecured WiFi connection .
To activate the option, you have to access Twitter through the web, enter the user settings and check the box next to “Always use HTTPS”. This will improve account security and better protect information if the user accesses through a public wireless Internet network, where someone may be monitoring our activity. In the future, those responsible for the platform intend to make HTTPS the default setting for all accounts . For now, they have already implemented HTTPS by default in the official Twitter applications for iPhone and iPad, as well as when logging in, to protect the password. But it is not yet available by default if accessed from a mobile browser . On the other hand, “if you use an application developed by third parties, you should check with them if they offer HTTPS support,” they warn users on the official Twitter blog.
