Reginaldo Ecclissato, president of Unilever México y Caribe, explained that the resources will be used to expand production capacity in the four plants in the country, which are located in Mexico City, Morelos and two in Tultitlán, in the State of Mexico. With this, the company will generate 3,000 new jobs, direct and indirect.

“This investment will allow us to grow production and increase the export of our products by around 20,000 million pesos in the next three years to the main commercial partners that are the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Central America, South America and some European countries. “Ecclissato pointed out.

“It is important to see the perspectives we have as a nation where our location, our international treaties, but above all the trust that the country has generated through different mechanisms and the capacity of its people are some of the reasons that today have many companies turning their eyes to Mexico ”, said Tatiana Clouthier, Secretary of Economy.

The company will increase the production capacity of its ice cream category and with this, it will start production for the North American market in Mexico. The manager did not detail how much the productive capacity of each of his plants will increase.

“This announcement would not be possible without the support of the Mexican government, which has been key to having the necessary certainty to carry out this investment plan, which we believe will also contribute to the economic reactivation of the country,” said the manager.
