“Who will be a millionaire” (RTL): embarrassment on “3 million euro show” because of Matthias Reim hit

Just like the song “Damn, I love you!”, The TV show “Wer wird Millionär” is also a timeless classic. Most recently, however, the RTL program went one better: as part of a new week of events, the candidates had the opportunity for the first time to win not just one, but three million euros. The episodes of the “Three Million Euro Week” were broadcast on four days in a row at the beginning of January.

However, it was not the amount of the winnings that caused a sensation – it was an embarrassing embarrassment for the “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” candidates. As in every normal “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” show, they first had to answer an introductory question in order to qualify for the chair opposite the talk show host Günther Jauch * (65).

In this case, the quiz contenders had to put the individual song lines from the 1990 Matthias Reim hit, “Damn, I love you!”, In the correct order. The choices were: “I don’t want to lose you”, “I need you”, “I love you” and “I want you”. For aspiring quiz champions, the question should actually be easy – one would think.

“Who will be a millionaire” (RTL): Candidates do not know the order of “Damn, I love you!” From Reim

But for the candidates of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” the rhyme classic was obviously an insurmountable hurdle. After the question was resolved, it turned out that none of the participants present could put the song lines in the correct order. Günther Jauch also seemed stunned by this embarrassing faux pas: “Children, children, children, children”, he shook his head in the direction of the camera in disbelief.

Matthias Reim * himself should certainly not be affected by the TV embarrassment. It couldn’t be better for him at the moment, both professionally and privately: His wife Christin Stark is pregnant and should give birth to the pop singer’s seventh child in spring 2022. In addition, the musician’s next studio album will be released on Friday (January 14th). One thing seems certain: one or two quiz show participants will certainly be among the attentive listeners in the future. * tz is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
