Vice Minister of Business Development, Saúl Pineda Hoyos, leaves his position

In the Ministry of Commerce, he promoted programs such as Factories for Productivity and the Entrepreneurship Law.

After three years at the helm of the Vice Ministry of Business Development of the Ministry of Commerce, Saúl Pineda Hoyos will leave his position. This was announced on May 18, but the decision will be effective as of this month.

According to the Commerce portfolio, Pineda Hoyos will take on new professional and personal challenges. During his time in the portfolio, he led the ongoing industrial policy, which was evidenced in the approval of the Entrepreneurship Law, the issuance of the 4.0 free zone regime and the strengthening of the countercyclical role of the Development Bank, represented by Bancóldex and the National Guarantee Fund.

Within the framework of his management, programs such as Productivity Factories were also promoted, in conjunction with Colombia Productiva. There are 2,800 companies that have received interventions from this initiative, of which 2,165 completed the process at the end of April.

“I have always worked with the conviction of supporting the country’s companies in their growth process, regardless of their size or sector. For this, together with my work team, we carry out a permanent service work within the framework of the industrial policy underway and the efforts of the present for economic reactivation, ”Pineda said.

He concluded by saying that he hopes to continue “generating spaces for building consensus for the benefit of inclusive development” from his new professional activities.

The announcement comes almost a week after the departure of Julián Guerrero Orozco, who was Vice Minister of Tourism for almost two years.

According to the Commerce portfolio, Guerrero also resigned for personal reasons on May 18 and his decision will be effective as of this month.
