Walmart, Soriana, Chedraui and La Comer have joined the 2022 Hot Sale and for you to take advantage of it, we break down the promotions that you will find on each of the supermarket e-commerce platforms, which is where, in principle, you will find the offers.
Supermarket chains accelerated their e-commerce channels with the pandemic, and although the adoption of this channel to make purchases has become popular among users, offer campaigns such as Hot Sale are an opportunity for each of the companies to capture more buyers, and depending on the experience, get them to be frequent customers.
This discount season was created to sell electronics, such as cell phones and computers, and durable goods, such as a stove or a screen, although little by little other consumer categories have been added, including medicines. But as part of the recommendations to take advantage of the Hot Sale, Julián Fernández, director of analysis at Bursamérica, suggests acquiring goods that last longer than the promotion.
For example, he says, it’s better to buy a refrigerator, which will outlast 12 months of potential interest-free payments, than a week’s worth of groceries, which will most likely run out before the debt is paid off.
Most retailers offer some monthly purchase promotions without interest, and add other benefits such as home deliveries at an extra cost. And, although Chedraui, La Comer and Soriana have a commercial strategy, Walmart could be the big winner of Hot Sale 2022.
“It is important for companies to approach this opportunity… because joining (the Hot Sale) helps the image of the brands,” says Fernández.
Walmart Discounts
For a couple of days, Walmart began to advance the offers that it would have available in its e-commerce channel. The company offers monthly purchases without interest, ranging from 12 to 24 months, depending on the bank. It also makes a bonus to the balance of purchases, which ranges from 10% to 15%.
Among the products that enter these promotions are screens, video game consoles and cell phones. It also offers washing machines and electric ovens, and the sale of alcoholic beverages, of which some brands are on promotion for three months without interest.
The company promises same-day delivery for products located in its Walmart Express section, where there are household cleaning supplies and products that can be stored, such as milk or packaged beans. Promotions can be located in the Hot Sale section within your page.
The Hot Sale in Soriana
Upon entering its page, a banner is read with the announcement “Up to 20% on selected air conditioners!”. In addition to this offer, Soriana offers a 15% electronic money bonus when paying with your credit card, granted by Falabella, in addition to deferring purchases for 12 and up to 24 months without interest in the telephone, white line, computer departments , screens and video games.
Soriana also offers monthly purchases without interest with other credit cards, and only offers a 15% discount on purchases over 2,000 with Santander cards.
The company also has a special section where you can find offers of up to 50% discount on categories such as home and garden furniture, or 30% on mattresses. Soriana offers all purchases with free shipping.
Offers and discounts in Chedraui
Chedraui, like Walmart and Soriana, offers free shipping. The promotions include a refund of 250 pesos for every 1,000 mobile phone purchases, a 20% discount on diapers, and a 15 to 20% discount on white goods and discounts on electronics, screens and video games.
The retailer offers to diversify payments up to 24 months without interest with participating cards and a bonus of up to 30% on the account statement.
Offers and discounts of La Comer
La Comer offers free shipping with a minimum purchase of 250 pesos, and on its Hot Sale promotions site, products are offered with discounts on the final price, for example a 70-inch screen from 26,498 pesos to 18,548 pesos. The retail does not detail if its offers are for months without interest with your card or those of the banking institutions.
The Hot Sale takes place from the 23rd to the 31st of May. It is an initiative of the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO), and you can only find offers in the online stores of each of the retailers.
