The American giant led by Mark Zuckerberg has suffered a general drop in its services and applications this Monday afternoon. WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram have stopped working globally and the service has begun to reestablish six hours later.
Apparently, the widespread failure in Facebook services has been caused by a problem in the DNS that give names to Internet domains. According to specialized media, this problem would have been produced precisely by a direct action of the Menlo Park (California) company itself, which would have disconnected from the service to avoid a cyberattack, although this point is still unconfirmed.
The recovery of this type of service, which affects millions of people around the planet, usually occurs gradually. Any sign of life from applications causes users to jump into using them again, which can lead to an even slower recovery.
