This measure that Catalonia introduced in the first place has had some critics within the scientific community. Galicia, its president, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo, has requested the necessary regulatory changes to eliminate the obligation to use the mask in outdoor spaces in those Communities that present a good epidemiological situation and a high percentage of vaccination. In this way, its inhabitants will be able to return to that normality that they are wanting. Madrid has joined the initiative of Galicia, but the Balearic Islands and Andalusia discard taking that step, for the moment.The two communities ask to continue betting on the mask as a preventive element beyond vaccination and the epidemiological data that both are achieving, progressing at a good pace. Spain is beginning to leave this measure behind. Europe has already ruled it out in open spaces since the start of the pandemic. In the rest of the countries it is a recommendation, but not an obligation. The United States, which is progressing very well with vaccination, has already ruled out the use of a mask outdoors and indoors in some states such as Texas since March. In our country, the debate is open, at the end of June it will be possible to travel to Castilla-La Mancha without a mask and perhaps to Galicia or Madrid walking outdoors without a mask, with vaccination advancing at full speed and infections decreasing at the same rate , the news of the end of deaths from this disease will be the one that begins to return to normal. Going back to the previous situation means leaving the mask behind, leaving the house with nothing and enjoying the outdoors like almost a year ago.
