When does the state of alarm end: Saturday night or Sunday?

The announcement of the end of the state of alarm came to Spain in the middle of the electoral campaign of the Madrid elections. Now, just three days after the date established in the decree in the BOE, on May 9, Spaniards are wondering when the state of alarm really ends. The decree clearly states that the limit is 00:00 hours on May 9. In other words, Saturday, May 8, will be, at least for now, the last day on which the state of alarm will be in effect. The Government of Pedro Sánchez approved Royal Decree 926/2020 on October 25, 2020, by which declared a state of alarm throughout the national territory to contain the spread of the coronavirus that causes the SARS-CoV-2 disease. Subsequently, the Council of Ministers approved on November 3, 2020 an extension of the State of Alarm for a period of 6 months that began its validity at 00:00 on November 9, 2020 During all this time, the Government of The Nation adopted certain competencies that the Communities held until the outbreak of the pandemic. In each autonomous community or city, the delegated competent authority is the one who holds the presidency. But that ends this May 9 at 00:00. From that moment on, the different autonomous governments will once again acquire the competences. This does not mean that everything will return to normal pre-pandemic, but something is something. For now, everything indicates that Spaniards will be able to enjoy a more or less normal summer, predictably with fewer restrictions than in the summer of 2020. What is expected is that the regions establish closing times for establishments and hotels. .But as of this May 9, unless the Justice says otherwise, a curfew may not be established that prevents free movement through the roads or spaces of public use at night. Likewise, everything indicates that it will not be possible to establish limits of circulation between the autonomous communities or within the national territory.
