This Sunday, May 9, 2021, the State of Alarm in Spain, which had been in force since October 25, 2020, has ended. Numerous restrictions have been eliminated, such as the perimeter closure of the autonomous communities or the curfew, but the use of the mask is still mandatory. However, the Organization of Consumers and Users does not agree with this measure, and has asked the Government to repeal it. OCU experts consider that wearing the mask outdoors, as long as the safety distance can be maintained, does not make any sense. Royal Decree-Law 21/2020, of June 9, regulates the mandatory use of the mask in our country, and says the following: «The use of a mask will be mandatory on public roads, in outdoor spaces and in any closed space for public use or that is open to the public, provided that it is not possible to maintain a interpersonal safety distance of at least two meters. ”Now, Law 2/2021, of March 29, which refers to urgent coordination, containment and prevention measures to face the Covid-19 crisis , indicates that the obligation extends to all outdoor spaces, without exception. Recycling of masks and sanitary materials dedicated to construction in India The OCU considers that right now the most important thing to avoid the fifth wave of Covid-19 is to focus on protection inside shared public spaces. Experts point out that it is essential to guarantee adequate ventilation, control gaps and, of course, force the use of a mask.On the other hand, in the open air, if the safety distances are maintained, the probability of contagion is minimal, so that it is not necessary to wear a mask. In addition, the Organization of Consumers and Users believes that citizens are already tired of having to wear it, which could lead to improper use of the mask even indoors. Furthermore, the OCU has asked the authorities to restore the family visits to the elderly living in nursing homes and centers for the elderly, taking into account that practically all have already received the complete vaccine schedule. These visits are very important for the elderly to have a good mood.
