Willi Herren: The public prosecutor’s office ends the investigation into the cause of death – no third-party fault
The Cologne Public Prosecutor’s Office has completed the death investigation. The investigators now finally rule out third-party debt. Neither the police investigations nor the forensic medical examinations gave any indications, a spokesman said.
In addition to the autopsy of the body, a chemical-toxicological analysis was also carried out at the Cologne Institute for Forensic Medicine. Whether – as suspected – an overdose led to the death of Willi Herren * remains unclear. The Cologne Public Prosecutor’s Office will not provide any further information on the cause of death. The reason for this is the entertainer’s personal rights.
Willi Herren: Death from an overdose? The public prosecutor’s office does not provide any further information
In two other cases in connection with the death of the Cologne native, the public prosecutor’s office continues to investigate. Because immediately after the death of Willi Herren, strangers broke into his apartment *. The perpetrators had destroyed the police seal on the door of the residential complex in Cologne-Mülheim and stole personal items from the reality icon.
But not only the apartment was affected. A few days after Willi Herren’s death, his food truck was on fire *. An employee of a security company noticed the fire in the truck in a parking lot in Frechen (North Rhine-Westphalia). The fire brigade was able to put out the fire quickly, but not much was left of the vehicle afterwards.
Initially, a tea light, which had been put down in memory of the deceased entertainer, was suspected to be the cause of the fire. According to the public prosecutor, however, after evaluating video recordings and communication data in the radio cell at the time of the crime, the suspicion that the fire was started intentionally had been reinforced. The investigation into unknown persons continues four months after the death.
After the death of Willi Herren: Investigations into the break-in and the food truck fire are ongoing
Willi Herren wanted to fulfill a lifelong dream with the food truck. Aside from the TV shows, “Willi Herren’s Rievkooche Bud” should stop in front of supermarkets and wineries. “When I’m not in front of the camera or on the stage, I’m in my truck and will sell potato pancakes,” said the Cologne man at the opening of the food truck a few days before his death (more celebrity news * at RUHR24).
Willi Herren achieved greater fame through the role of the series villain “Olli Klatt” in the ARD program “Lindenstrasse”, which he embodied in 201 episodes from 1992 to 2020. In the course of his career he also took part in countless reality formats. In 2004 he moved to the jungle camp, in 2019 to the “Summer House of the Stars” and in 2020 he was one of the candidates for “Battle of Reality Stars”.
In addition, Willi Herren tried himself as a pop singer. Together with Ikke Hüftgold, after the 2014 World Cup, he published a version of the song “So go the gauchos”, which some of the national players had performed at the reception in Berlin. The song reached number 99 on the charts. * RUHR24 is part of the IPPEN.MEDIA editorial network.
