For her documentary film, director Maria Speth accompanied a school class for a long time. Anyone who watches the film gets an idea of what is sometimes lacking in the school system.
Berlin – What influence does a teacher have on his class? And how can everyone learn from each other? Maria Speth's new documentary is about such questions. The director accompanied a class in Stadtallendorf in Hesse for a long time.
The film "Mr. Bachmann and his class" tells in around three and a half hours about human interaction, German history and pressing questions about our coexistence. The focus is on the rather unconventional teacher Dieter Bachmann. At the Berlinale this year the film won the Silver Bear "Jury Prize".
