The incidence value continues to be an important benchmark for assessing the incidence of infection. The Robert Koch Institute reports another increase.
Berlin – The corona incidence in Germany has increased again slightly: According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) from Tuesday morning, the seven-day incidence was 17.9. The previous day the value was 17.8, on the Tuesday of the previous week it was 14.5.
The health authorities in Germany reported 1766 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. The numbers reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 03.15 a.m. A week ago, the value for Germany was 1545 new infections, but in the days after that it was well over 2000, and on Thursday even over 3000.
The incidence has so far been the basis for many corona restrictions in the pandemic, for example as part of the federal emergency brake that expired at the end of June. In the future, other values such as hospital admissions are to be taken into account to a greater extent.
Nationwide, 19 deaths in connection with a Sars-CoV-2 infection were reported within 24 hours. A week ago there were 38 deaths. The RKI has counted 3,773,875 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.
The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at around 3,658,300. The number of people who died from or in connection with a documented infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 91,679. dpa
