Dick Farrel railed against corona vaccination – and died of the virus

Recently, however, he has also devoted himself more and more to the corona pandemic and the vaccination campaign in the USA. According to the Daily Beast, for example, he insulted the well-known virologist and White House consultant Anthony Fauci as a “power-drunk, lying freak”, and in June he vehemently advised his listeners not to get a vaccination against the coronavirus. He had his audience mainly in Florida, where his broadcast was based. In addition, he also moderated again and again on the ultra-conservative TV station Newsmax.

But then everything turned out differently. As friends and colleagues report on social media, Dick Farrel came to the hospital about three weeks ago and then apparently regretted that he had not been vaccinated, as the Daily Beast reports. Accordingly, he advised those close to him to get vaccinated after all. Farrel then died in hospital on August 4, 2021.

Dick Farrel was not alone with his negligent statements about the coronavirus and the vaccination campaign in the United States. Many supporters: inside the former President Donald Trump support the ideas, conspiracy theories like the one about the virologist Anthony Fauci go down well with them.

A friend of the right-wing presenter Dick Farrel told the local TV station WPTV after his death: “I was like him, I didn’t trust the vaccine. I trusted my immune system. Now I was more afraid of contracting Covid-19 than of any side effects of the vaccination. I’m happy to have been vaccinated. ”Farrel is just one of many anti-vaccination agents in the United States who have died from the virus in the past few months, according to the Daily Beast. (msb)
