London – Melissa McCarthy stars in this quirky US comedy. She is Carol, a woman who – according to her immediate environment – could not be more average.
And that's exactly why she got a call one morning from a stranger whose voice sounds like that of talk show host James Corden. The voice turns out to be Artificial Intelligence that announces something shocking to Carol: It is supposedly the last hope of humanity. And if she fails to get back together with her still beloved ex-boyfriend George (Bobby Cannavale), the intelligence threatens to enslave humanity or to destroy it right away.
"Superintelligence" is a bizarre, somewhat unbalanced romantic comedy with science fiction elements. The director is McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone.
