Berlin – The simultaneously inspired and thoughtful look of Naomi Watts on the advertising poster for this film speaks volumes. And the bird sitting there on her shoulder must have something to do with it.
It is a flightless little magpie that Watts' son in the film brings home one day. Because of its black and white plumage, it is given the name Penguin, English for penguin. Sam (Watts) is not really enthusiastic at first, but gradually she notices how much the bird helps her to find a new perspective on her paraplegia. The director is Australian Glendyn Ivin, and Andrew Lincoln ("Love Actually") is also part of the 95-minute film.
