Comedy “Always follow your nose” on ZDF

Finally a film that realistically tells about the pandemic crisis: Tanja is a seasoned woman. But then you gradually break away from your professional existence. Friendships are at stake.

Berlin – The cardboard corona virus is stuck under her arm when Tanja (Claudia Michelsen) is about to decorate the shop window of a pharmacy.

Unfortunately, she falls off the ladder, and so the entire decoration (which also includes a rather large nose) has to be redone. After all, nothing happened to Tanja, but her orders are being canceled because many shops have to file for bankruptcy. In addition, her old convertible is towed away, her only daughter Lisa (Lena Klenke) moves out – and then the much younger Nick (Helgi Schmid) makes her eyes beautiful at a chance encounter. So there is a lot going on in the comedy “Always follow your nose” this Thursday at 8:15 pm on ZDF.

Nick is a carpenter by trade, but mainly fishes other people’s scrap from the Spree. Although Tanja likes his charming romance and spontaneity, she pinches. But Nick persists, and so they start an affair. Her best friend Imke (Corinna Harfouch) supports Tanja, but comes up short with her own problems – which is not without consequences. Tanja’s mother Ellen (Angela Winkler) speaks nebulously of a collapse, she also cleans up her apartment thoroughly – she seems to be preparing for a big and perhaps last trip.

Director Kerstin Polte (46, “Who actually invented love”) wrote and shot a turbulent and fast-paced comedy, even if it sags a little halfway. It’s full of clever and witty dialogues, and with her special narrative style, Polte targets the roles of the sexes.

The actors are all great, especially Michelsen, Harfouch and Winkler. Tanja may be a little old-fashioned – she doesn’t know the word chill and she doesn’t believe in messenger services either – she prefers to speak, in other words entirely analogue. For that reason alone, it is extremely lovable, and Claudia Michelsen (52, “Polizeiruf 110”) plays it adorable.

The actress in the dpa interview about her roles: “For years I have always tried to look for the complexities of a character, otherwise I would probably get bored. In this respect, that’s the only way for me, and even if it’s sometimes not written, I add it in small, secret snapshots. “

Michelsen says of the film: “There are actually themes from the most varied of characters that move me. This story touches so much; Standstill, a new beginning, farewell, time, pause and a lot more. I find it difficult to name what is most important to me because my view of different things keeps changing. I like to leave that to the audience. “

Finally, a film can be seen here in which the Corona crisis and the consequences such as loneliness and existential worries are discussed – and that’s true. This comedy also tells of the fact that people and friendships change and that life does not have to go straight on all the time; but that it is important to just let yourself drift – and really listen to each other. dpa
