Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is about to have a “minor” procedure on his knee. The Tampa Bay Times reported , citing an unnamed source.
Accordingly, the procedure is not to remedy a recent injury. Instead, the five-time Super Bowl MVP planned the procedure months ago. Meanwhile, the Boston Globe reports that it is the left knee, the one on which Brady tore his cruciate ligament in 2008.
Brady never appeared on the Buccaneers Injury Report with an injury last season, but received a few days off from Head Coach Bruce Arians. Arians also granted them to other older players, including tight end Rob Gronkowski and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
Brady wore a splint on his left knee at the winners parade on Wednesday in Tampa, but he often wears it when playing golf or other sports.
Brady had only clinched his seventh Super Bowl title on Sunday with the victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, his first with the Bucs. He previously won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots before joining Tampa Bay last season.
