Birmingham – Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai has married. The 24-year-old announced this on Tuesday evening via Twitter. “Today is a precious day in my life. Asser and I have agreed to be partners in life, ”she wrote.
The couple held a small traditional Islamic wedding ceremony with their family at home in Birmingham, England, Yousafzai said. She was shown in photos with her groom and other people.

In 2014, Malala Yousafzai was the youngest ever to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for her commitment to the right of all children to education. She survived an attack in October 2012 after Taliban fighters stopped her school bus in northern Pakistan. She had previously campaigned for girls to attend school. Today she lives in the UK. dpa
