After the tragic accident when rapper Travis Scott appeared at a festival in Houston, the number of deaths rose to ten. A nine year old boy died from his injuries.
Houston – A good week after the accident at the Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas, the death toll has risen to ten.
A nine-year-old died on Sunday from his serious injuries, the broadcaster CNN and other US media reported, citing the Blount family’s lawyer. The boy had previously been in an artificial coma.
During a performance by the rapper Travis Scott, there was a panic on the evening of November 5th at the Astroworld Festival in the dense crowd in front of the stage. Around 50,000 people had attended the festival organized by Scott. Scott and the other organizers are now accused, among other things, that there were too few security measures and that the concert was canceled too late. The police expect months of investigation.
“Tonight, the Blount family mourn the incredible loss of their beloved young son. This should not have been the result if you take your son to a concert that should have been a celebration, ”CNN quoted from the lawyer’s statement. Houston’s mayor Sylvester Turner was also deeply saddened by the death. “Our town is praying for his mom, dad, grandparents, other family members and classmates tonight,” Turner wrote on Twitter.
According to the report, CNN had already spoken to the nine-year-old’s grandfather last week. Accordingly, the boy had gone to the concert with his father, the father carried him on his shoulders. When the father wanted to get away with him from the increasingly dense crowd, the son fell off his shoulder straight into the crowd. He suffered injuries to his liver, lungs and head, according to the report. dpa
