Slow internet? Starting December 1st, you can cut or cancel payments. This enables an amendment to the Telecommunications Act.
Berlin – Anyone who receives a network that is much slower than what they pay for can now cut payments or give extraordinary notice. This provides for an amendment to the Telecommunications Act, which significantly strengthens the rights of consumers.
Consumer law: money back when the internet is paralyzed
Providers like to lure customers with promising bandwidths – and the annoyance is great when the advertised high-speed connections turn out to be creeping tracks. Consumers no longer have to put up with poor services that lag behind the advertised offer.
As Kreiszeitung.de * reports, a new app can be used to record which speed is actually being delivered – and in the event of corresponding deviations, entitlement to a reduction in payment or termination.
* Kreiszeitung.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
