Once again there is criticism of the Luca app. Musician and co-inventor of the app Smudo defends his invention and speaks plain language.
Hamburg – The Luca app is under attack again *. The specific reason this time is the illegal access by the police to data in the app, which should help the officers to find witnesses to a fatal accident. The approach met with a mixed response and led some politicians to the request to delete the Luca app. Smudo, who helped develop the app and in which he has an economic interest, considers the politicians' request to be "irresponsible" and defends himself against criticism of his product.
You can read more about the background to the accident and the subsequent police investigation as well as Smudo's justification for the Luca app here.
Meanwhile, 13 federal states that have a license for the Luca app are currently checking whether it is worth the investment. The licenses run until the end of March and April, respectively. It is not yet clear whether the federal states will continue to use the Luca app beyond this date. * 24hamburg.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
