Queen Elizabeth II has cut countless cakes. At her anniversary cake there was a portion of the finest royal humor as the icing on top.
Sandringham – on the eve of her 70th jubilee, Her Royal Highness the Queen (95) caused a lot of laughs. Apparently, the regent enjoyed the reception in Sandringham and amazed guests and Twitter fans with a confident performance. The group experienced an extremely amusing moment when the 95-year-old monarch was supposed to cut the cake.
First, Queen Elizabeth II* took a large, silver knife and stabbed it vertically – not very royally – from above into the middle of the cake. The lady-in-waiting on the Queen’s right lost her facial features. “I think I’ll just stick the knife in,” commented the British monarch with satisfaction on her work, which was remotely reminiscent of the famous murder scene in Hitchcock’s “Psycho”.
Someone else can do the rest, she said, smiling, beaming mischievously at her struggling escort, who took a moment before applauding the queen.
Her Majesty had asked for a reception at Sandringham House* to celebrate the eve of her 70th jubilee with people from the region who are involved in charities. The Royal Family * then tweeted the cake scene as a video and let the royal fans participate.

Elizabeth II did not miss the next through ball either. Her husband Prince Philip * (99, † 2021) – known for his quick wits * – who died in April 2021 – would have really enjoyed the following scene.
The cake was positioned on the table in such a way that it was legible for the photographers who were present before setting it up. But for the monarch, seated behind the table, the text was upside down. This did not remain uncommented by Elizabeth II. She tossed the photographers: “You can see it well. It doesn’t matter to me, I’m not that important – I think I can read it backwards too.”
Already in June of last year, Queen Elizabeth II. Surprisingly casually laid an unforgettable cake cut at the G7 summit in Cornwall *. *24royal.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
