Dog Kona and her owner have made it their mission to save other animals. The mixed-breed bitch has taken little kittens particularly to her heart.
New York – A touching story from the USA shows how much care and love can be in a small animal. Dog Kona lives with her owner Asa Shibuya in New York. Her mistress is dedicated to rescuing animals. More than 200 animals have already found a home through their commitment.
In an interview with “boredpanda.com” she says: “Caring is my way of giving something back to the animals”, and further, “I grew up in a broken family and my dogs were the only constant in life, and as an only child I supported myself on her often.”
Bitch from New York initially takes on the task of babysitting
The baby kittens Chester and Blair are also looking for a new home. The two had been abandoned in a backyard, where Luckily Asa found them and took them home. There, the two kittens made friends with the dog Kona.
What’s more, the furry nose soon took over the role of babysitter for the two kittens and “eventually became a substitute mom”. The animal rescuer began taking pictures of Kona and her two “kids” and posting the heartwarming pictures on Instagram – with great success.

Bitch and owner are the perfect animal rescuer duo
According to boredpanda.com, Asa believes the dog is a great help in helping kittens trust people and other animals. “She really has an unerring feeling for such situations,” she reported proudly. While the kittens run away from her, they immediately felt at home with the mixed-breed dog. Accordingly, they would have even tried to drink with her. This didn’t work, but Kona would have patiently “let himself be nibbled on”.
Bitch and owner make a perfect duo as animal rescuers. While Asa tries everything humanly possible to nurture the animals and find them a new home, Kona gives her protégés a lot of love and attention. (ebb)
