"Hopefully we can die of old age, not from a gunshot" Andrés Parra on the national strike

The artist has spoken out about the events that occur in Colombia and called for action to begin to refine the idea of violence with which many generations have grown up.

Since the beginning of the protests in Colombia, on April 28, different acts of violence have occurred during the demonstrations, which many citizens have tried to carry out peacefully.

This situation has led thousands of people to document what is happening in the streets through different social networks, where apparently members of the public force attack the marchers. Several artists have joined and as a way of helping they have replicated the contents so that the facts are known in the international community.

Actor Andrés Parra has not been indifferent and has also joined the various artists who have spoken about the political and social situation that takes place in Colombia. Through a video, he exposed the need to stop violence and move in the search for peace.

” I belong to a generation that was taught that killing was okay, that was put deep into its genetics by narco, paramilitary, guerrilla thinking, hatred, revenge, revenge,” says Parra.

In addition, he also spoke about the violence that has become normal in the country.

“I was born in a violent country, I grew up in a violent country, I still live in a violent country. A country where people kill themselves just because and why not ”.

“If someone thinks differently from us” kill those and from there to here there are many. Death incubated us, our land is a cemetery, but it is not normal. It is not normal to kill because someone gives you money, because they break a window ”.

The artist also assured that although this is the reality, it is still possible to act and do something to prevent the same thing from happening.

“Unfortunately this is the country that gave birth to us, where we grew up and hopefully it is the country where we can die of old age and not from a shot. This is our reality and we must begin to take charge and begin to debug that chip of death that they introduced to us ” . Finished adding.
