There is no doubt that both Google Maps and Apple Maps are two of the most popular maps (and navigation) applications, which help us enormously when it comes to orienting ourselves around the city, either on foot or with our vehicle, and returning home when we’re done.
What’s more, there is also some other application that has increased its popularity enormously in recent years, mainly due to the fact that it works through the information provided by other drivers in real time, such as Waze.
In any case, regardless of whether we use one or the other application (or even both), it is normal that we want to use them to lead us home easily with a single click, especially the first few times, when we want them to help us find our way faster. Unless, of course, the apps have an incorrect address, something that can happen when, for example, we have moved.
Although solving it is easy, especially to avoid getting lost easily, it is necessary to follow a series of steps to change the address of our home in both applications with iPhone.
How to change your home address in Apple Maps on an iPhone
Using Report a problem
We start Apple Maps on the iPhone, which we will find on the device’s home screen. Click on the “i” icon, located in the upper right corner of the screen. Then, in the Map Settings window, which appears next, we must touch the Report a problem button.
In the new screen that has just appeared we touch the Start button, and on this page we slide the address of our house to the left, in order to display the Delete button.
We then touch Add a place or an address , and we write the correct address of our home. Once completed, and after making sure that it is correct, we press it when we see it in the location results, and after confirming it we touch Add .
Using Edit Location
Another simple way to do it is by starting Apple Maps on our iPhone and, on the main map screen, we write the word Start in the Search for a place or address field. We now touch Home in the search results, and in the new navigation window we touch Edit location .
We add our new location, we touch Next and, to confirm, we simply click Done .
How to change your home address in Google Maps on an iPhone
In the event that you also use the Google Maps app on your iPhone, and you have recently changed your address, it is very likely that you also want to know how you can change your default address.
You must start Google Maps on the iPhone. Then, touch the three horizontal lines that you will find in the upper left part of the screen, and in the new menu that appears, touch Your places .
An address will appear at Home, which will be the one that we will have to change. To do this, we touch the icon with three dots that we find on the right, and a new pop-up menu will appear where we will have to click on Edit home .
Now we just type in our home address and finally select it in the search results.
